Master Jin Young Kim

An outpouring of words from the many students and friends of Master Jin Young Kim, “Dragon Kim”, paint him as a mentor, humanitarian leader and Father From his teaching of the “family” to his “Can Do” attitude Master Kim has taught his many students the basics of Tae Kwon Do most importantly” of respect. Master Kim treats his students and friends as family and reminds his "family" that all have red blood, all are people and all deserve respect. He lives his beliefs, thus his students learn to do the same.

Master Kim works with all people regardless of their race, sex, age, religion or physical and mental disability. He teaches them to look beyond their differences. Master Kim teaches his art by training his student's mind, body and spirit

In the words of one student: “Master Kim, through the art of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self- control and an indomitable spirit, establishes a family that is neither prejudice nor prone to create friction. He teaches the beauty of the human sprit by development "knowledge in the mind, strength in the body and honesty in the heart”. As students we follow his fluid movements, learning grace and power need not contain friction, but rather smoothly become one. Through the unity of mind and body we learn to love one another as individuals and to grow from ignorance of discrimination.

A heartened mentor and friend of many, Master Jin Young Kim receives the Human Rights Day Award.
